08 Sep Liquid Simulations- Recent work
Competed this job recently using Realflow for the liquid simulations. Modo for the animation and HDR Lightstudio for the lighting.
Animation including liquid simulations can be very tricky and time consuming. A liquid simulation is a linear process. By this I mean that you need to create the variables to which the liquid should move. You then press a button and the software computes the simulation, dot-by-dot, of where it thinks the liquid should go. When you get to frame 1,201 the simulation, for example, the liquid simulation could suddenly ‘explode’ and not do what you want it to do. This means for the past hour the simulation is useless. You go back and tweak the variables to what you think will fix it and simulate it again, only to find out after two hours the simulation explodes again. This process is repeated again and again. This is why a very fast computer and a long schedule is need to do liquid animation effects.
